The tour begins with your arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where you are met and transferred to nearby Wilson Airport for a scheduled charter flight into the Masai Mara. Arriving at Angama Mara in time for lunch, you can look forward to an afternoon game drive with a further three full days to plan with your guide. Morning and afternoon drives are the main focus but you can also head out on foot with your guide for a nature walk or visit a local Maasai village. There is also the opportunity to go on hot-air balloon safari, taking off at dawn and watching the rising sun illuminate the savannah below you.
As a wildlife destination, the Masai Mara is diverse and highly rewarding at any time of year: animals such as lion, elephant, giraffe and cheetah are resident in the area and the hilly landscape around camp is ideal for leopards. The Masai Mara is also the scene of the annual Wildebeest Migration from about July to October, when wildebeest and zebra arrive in their hundreds of thousands, attracting great densities of predators and giving you excellent chances of seeing predator-prey interaction.
