Kruger National Park, Kruger Private Reserves, South Africa

From the city to the bush: a short flight whisks you from Cape Town to Hoedspruit for the drive to Ngala Safari Lodge, set on a private reserve in the Kruger National Park. You will be surrounded by Africa as she once was: hyenas crying out at night, fish eagles calling in the morning and the Big 5 living as they always have.

Ngala Safari Lodge prides itself on superb service and gourmet dining experiences, and you will soon slip into the pattern of ‘bush life’: being woken at dawn with hot coffee, bundling up for your morning game drive, taking brunch on the deck, savouring cocktails as the sun sets and recalling it all around the crackling fire under a blanket of stars.

Protected by a lush canopy of immense mopane and tamboti trees, the lodge is intimate and elegant. Soft linen and romantically-draped beds combine with dazzling views of the surrounding trees and thickets. A private verandah is the perfect spot for private meals, while a large en suite bathroom with outdoor shower oozes opulence and romance.
